Kevin Zraly worked at the Windows on the World Restaurant from its opening in 1976 until September 11, 2001. He is the founder and teacher of the immensely popular Windows on the World Wine School that has graduated almost 20,000 students since its inception. The classes are now held at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square.
His book, Windows on the World Complete Wine Course is the largest selling wine book in the United States with over 3 million copies sold. Kevin also authored Kevin Zraly’s American Wine Guide, the only book to cover all 50 states. He has been teaching about wine for over 30 years, beginning at the age of 20, and has studied winemaking techniques in all the major wine regions of the world.
Kevin is a recipient of the 2009 Wine Professional of the Year from Sante, Lifetime Achievement Award from the European Wine Council, the James Beard Award as the Wine and Spirits Professional of the Year, the Food and Beverage Association’s Man of the Year Award, Lifetime Achievement Award from the Society of Wine Educators, and the 2006 Wine Literary Award. Kevin is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Culinary Institute of America.
Kevin has been featured in The New York Times, People magazine, The Wall Street Journal, GQ magazine, Newsweek, and USA Today, as well as many other publications. He had a wine show on the TV Food Network and has been a featured guest on numerous radio broadcasts.
Together with Robert Parker Kevin created the Parker & Zraly Wine Certification Program, an online wine testing certification. Kevin also moderates the Sherry-Lehmann/Kevin Zraly Master Wine Classes in New York City.
