I don't GET wines from this country...</title><description>I'd suggest starting with some traditional Rioja, wines made by the likes of La Rioja Alta, Lopez de Heredia, Marques de Murietta, CVNE, Marques de Riscal and a few others. This is a totally unique style. See if you can find some with age and try to get Gran Reservas.

I heard some very positive reports from a vertical a couple of years ago.
