Welcome to In Asia, a webpage dedicated solely to the wines and wine scene in Asia.
Why Asia? Well forgetting for a moment that nearly two thirds of the planet lives here,
the passion for wine consumption in Asia is growing far faster then the global average.
And though wine has been present in Asia for many centuries, it has only recently begun
to migrate from a trophy tipple for the elite to a wide range of good quality,
affordable options accessible by anyone.

In Asia is about discovering the development of wine markets,
wine production and wine appreciation in a myriad of cities and countries without precedence.
From my base in Singapore, I’ll travel to Japan, China, South Korea, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan,
Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam searching out wine lovers and perhaps creating a few.
I hope to provide insight, stories and new perspectives on sight, smell and flavour, as well
as develop a wine map for non-Asian and Asian residents alike. But perhaps the most important
(and daunting) of my jobs will be providing consumer advocacy in Asia by tasting and benchmarking
the thousands of wines available exclusively here.

I hope you'll find my articles and wine reviews both entertaining and informative.
I'm a Westerner, born, bred and formally wine-trained, but for the most part I'll
be suspending my beliefs and disbeliefs in the pursuit of discovering new ways and
means of loving wine In Asia.
